Her Smile makes me smile. Her laugh is infectious. Her heart is pure and true. Above all I love that she is my daughter.

“The story shows how a real gentleman should behave. He loves the woman and fights for a place in her heart. He doesn’t step back because of her refusals; on the contrary, he continues to do everything to gain her love”.

I got my inspiration for this look from one of my favorites books “Pride & Prejudice”, recommended by my best friend. My best friend is Tatiana (or Tania, as I like to call her). Imagine how special she is if I picked her out of the 7 billion plus persons who live on our planet. Just kidding!  So, what I will highlight here is her ability to choose and recommend books to read. One of those books is “Pride and Prejudices”, by Jane Austen, which I really love and is so representative for me. The book is about a love story set at the beginning of 19th century in the British Regency, and looks at the human nature with all its flaws and qualities; all in the context of balls, old fashion style, gentlemen and a mix of the aristocratic society meeting the simple but noble people.

Looking at myself, I’m somehow old fashioned and not just in my dresses, movies or books, but manners as well. I truly believe that when two people like each other, the man should be the one who takes the initiative and should take the first step. I believe in flowers and sweets. I believe that even if she is attracted to him, she can refuse to extend the courting period and fully assume the tensioned and vibrant moments. And all this should be considered a normal attitude. Wouldn’t all this be a good test to see if the guy has serious intentions or not?

I read the book and I also saw the movie. There are many adaptations for “Pride and Prejudice” but I saw only one, the one where Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen are lead characters. They both embraced so well the characters, they were so expressive and natural that I preferred to keep those emotions and feelings related by them. I strongly believe that we all need our “Pride & Prejudice” story adapted, somehow, into our daily contemporary life. May sound impossible but it is not! We all need pure emotions and happy endings, just like in fairy tales. Do you really believe that only kids need a fairy tale? No, we all do! The difference is that when you’re a grown up you don’t just dream about it, but you need to do something about it. As I mentioned to you in one of my previous posts, we should believe in magic and the magic will come to us.

Coming back to dresses.

The model of my dress was inspired from this beautiful movie during my pregnancy. As I decided to be a stylish, elegant and good-looking future mom (LOL), I was looking for a nice and an unusual model of dress for pregnancy. I found several cute dresses in shops, but of course, it wasn’t enough for me. Now I understand how smart it was to already have a dressmaker. Without her, being pregnant (emotions and reactions during pregnancy are tripled!J), could have meant a huge tragedy not to be able to have something special for this period. I just began thinking about the model I wanted to sew when I remembered the movie. The model of these dresses was perfect. These can be worn during the pregnancy and after, because they are really nice, aren’t they?

So, I asked the dressmaker to make me the dress and also keep a small piece of material for my little beautiful girl. Yes, you understood correctly! I was already thinking about having the same dress models for both of us. If you go back to the “A Daughter is just a little girl who grows up to be your best friend” post you’ll see that I had this in my mind since I a was a little girl too. And when it was done I was the happiest pregnant woman ever!

And look at us now! We are both wearing the dresses I had in mind a couple of years ago. How time passes by!

Dare and enjoyyy!!!

  1. Wauu! This is really beautiful!
I like how you both look like part of the nature: you seem lost but at the same time in the right place.

  2. Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite books as well! And I also enjoyed the movie (with Keira and Matthew) very much!
Great choice again, your outfits look amazing and the pictures are so so beautiful!
